1.  政策声明

It is the policy of the University to encourage qualified persons with disabilities to participate in University 活动, 项目, 服务和作为入学或就业的申请人. 大学不会歧视或拒绝进入或参与其活动, 项目, 服务, 基于个人残疾的录取或就业, 为残疾人士提供合理便利的需要, 对残疾的认知, 或者因为一个人与一个残疾人有联系.

2.  目的

This policy is intended to promote and ensure equality of access and opportunity to the University’s educational 和就业 项目.

3.  残疾人士

  1. A person with a disability is one who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity, 法律规定的, 有减值记录吗, 或者被认为有缺陷.

4.  合理的安排和其他帮助

  3. An undue hardship is an action that requires significant difficulty or expense or fundamentally alters the nature of a service or program.
  4. A reasonable accommodation is a 修改 or adjustment to the work or academic environment that enables a qualified individual with a disability to enjoy equal employment and academic opportunities.

  7. Any work alterations made outside of the 程序 outlined in this policy will not be considered reasonable accommodations under applicable laws.

5.  实现

  1. The President has overall responsibility for development and implementation of appropriate plans and 项目 relevant to this policy.
  2. The Office of Institutional 访问 and 股本 shall serve as the coordinator to assist in the development and implementation of University 程序 and 项目 regarding the needs of persons with disabilities.
  3. The Office of Institutional 访问 and 股本 should be consulted as needed during the accommodation process to ensure compliance with this policy. The Director of Institutional 访问 and 股本 has been designated as the University’s ADA/504 Coordinator and is available to the University community for guidance and counseling.
  4. Departments are responsible for funding and coordinating reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities in their areas.

6.  请求住宿

  1. 教职员工. Employees initiate the reasonable accommodation process by submitting an Employee Reasonable Accommodation Request Form and an Employee Documentation of Disability Form to the ADA/504 Coordinator in the Office of Institutional 访问 and 股本.
    1. The Documentation of Disability Form must be completed by an appropriate and qualified health care professional and be submitted before accommodations can be considered.
    2. Once the ADA/504 Coordinator establishes that the employee is a qualified individual with a disability, he or she will engage in an interactive process with the employee and his or her supervisor to identify and discuss potential reasonable accommodations that will enable the individual to perform the essential functions of the position or to enjoy equal benefits and privileges of employment.
    3. 遵守适用的法律法规, medical documents relating to a request for a reasonable accommodation will be treated as confidential and will not be included in the employee’s personnel file. Such records will only be 分享d with University employees on a need-to-know basis in order to implement the accommodation or with others as required by law.
  2. 就业申请人. Applicants for employment should contact the Department of Human Resources to request reasonable accommodations during the hiring process.
  3. 学生. 学生应联系残疾住宿办公室 & 成功策略(DASS)要求合理的安排. 获得学术住宿, 学生必须在DASS注册并提交适当的医疗文件.
  4. 游客. 各部门有责任为残疾访客提供合理的便利. 游客 to the University who require an accommodation should contact the department sponsoring the program or service that brings the visitor to campus.

7.  投诉

Any person covered by this policy that has a claim of discrimination is encouraged to file a complaint by completing and submitting a Discrimination Complaint Form to the Office of Institutional 访问 and 股本.
